Default Prep or no prep - that is the question....

I'll be the one to ask it....

What is a true street race defined by you the fans of Cars Illustrated?

Prepped surface with water/bleech under the tires and tons of VHT?

Or is it where you line up and go?

The discussion starts here....

Both. On the street you just line up with whoever / whatever and let her rip when the opportunity arrives. But with bigger money or a match race involved you prep on burnouts.

I'd say, no prep, do a burn out, get ready to rock and roll. That gives anyone a chance to beat a faster car by driving around them.

i dont like the no prep at the track but i do LOVE street racing... it sometimes helps the guy with less money and more driving skill to win. same with no prep at a track but there are alot more wrecks at the no prep track events

Default Lil VHT?

I don't see a problem with a little VHT or whatever special sauce you might brew up and pouring a little puddle in front of each tire, burnout back up and go. But don't get carried away and spray the street out the first 60 feet or whatever. That's B.S.

Default we had this licked back in the 80s!

Our street burnout could ALWAYS be "prepped"!

We simply filled the washer reservoir with bleach, and rerouted the hoses and sprayer tips to the rear tires.
Bleachbox burnouts where ever you are, anytime you want !
